Frequently Asked Questions
How much will you charge to officiate my wedding?
My flat rate to officiate a wedding is $150. You can pay a deposit of $50 to hold your date, or you can pay in full! I have ad-ons you can also choose such as a personalized ceremony or poem.
If you'd like me to attend your wedding rehearsal, my flat rate is $150 for one hour. This must be paid in advance before it is added to my calendar.
Will you meet with me and my fiance?
Yes! I will set up a time to meet via Zoom!
How do we pay our balance on the day of the ceremony?
It is best to pay your balance before your wedding day! I will need your Marriage License before the ceremony begins. You may simply give your marriage license and your final payment (cash only, please) to your best man (or another member of your wedding party) to give to me.
Why before the ceremony? First, and most importantly, I cannot perform your ceremony until I have viewed the expiration date on your marriage license. This is not my rule, it is required by Massachusetts law. Secondly, once the ceremony ends, you'll be too excited with taking photos! I don't feel comfortable interrupting this special time, and I don't want to interfere with this part of your wedding.
*Please note that because I often have two weddings on the same day, I leave shortly after the ceremony has ended.
How much is a marriage license? It will cost you between $4 and $50 to get married in Massachusetts. Each Massachusetts community can set their own fees. Example: The marriage license fee in Boston is $50.
